When visiting the Parksville/Qualicum area you will find there many activities to fill your time. Beachcombing, golfing, tennis, spelunking, hiking, biking, swimming, diving and fishing are just some of the recreational activities you can enjoy. 

The beaches are truly wonderful and when the tide recedes hundreds of meters of sand is left which is perfect for beachcombing and sand castle building. Expert sand castle builders come from around the world to display their creative genius during the annual International Sandcastle Competition. When the tide comes back in over the heated sand the swimming is excellent. 

Golfers will love the wide range of courses in the area. For kids of all ages there is one of the best putt putt courses to found anywhere.

If you like dark places plan on visiting the Horne Lake Caves. Experienced guides are on hand to help you find your way.

The area has always been a great spot to test your fishing skills. Qualicum Beach even gets its name from the native word meaning "where the dog salmon run". You can enjoy trout fishing in one of the fresh-water lakes and salmon, halibut, or cod fishing in Georgia Strait. Several small islands in the vicinity make not only the fishing great but also the diving. 

Biking and hiking are also excellent ways to spend time in this area with its relatively flat terrain and parks such as Little Qualicum Falls.
