to The Okanagan Valley 
The
Okanagan Valley stretches nearly 250 kilometers from Enderby to Osoyoos. The Similkameen extends from the sun-drenched hills of Osoyoos to
the historic gold rush heritage town of Princeton 100 kilometers to
the west.
The
Okanagan is an all season destination, home to three exceptional destination
ski resorts - Silver Star Mountain Resort in the Vernon area, Big
White Ski Resort just south of Kelowna and Apex Mountain Resort near
Penticton.
With more than 250 lakes to choose from, and the
many secluded mountain streams and rivers, it is not uncommon to catch
your daily limit in the Okanagan Similkameen. Regularly
scheduled airlines fully service the area with connecting flights
through Victoria, Vancouver or Calgary.
Kelowna is the largest
city in the Okanagan and is ideally situated along Okanagan Lake,
a paradise for travellers wanting outdoor recreation such as,
hiking, camping, fishing, boating, sailing or windsurfing and
skiing to name just a few of the activities available in the area.
With over 40 golf courses and a range of affordable golf n'stay packages
to choose from, The Okanagan Similkameen is a golfer's Mecca.
The area is approximately 4 hours drive from Vancouver over
the beautiful Coquihalla Highway and can also be reached from the
south from Washington State, from the north via Kamloops or Salmon
Arm on Highway 1 for travellers coming by highway from Calgary and
Banff, Alberta.
Highway
3 is an alternate route into British Columbia from Alberta , following
the Washington and Idaho State border and intersects at Osoyoos with
Highway 97, the main route north into the Okanagan.
In summer, the marinas offer superb facilities and equipment rentals
to let you swim, splash, ski or float in the sunshine on the areas
beautiful lakes. Explore the Similkameen River by canoe or kayak on
guided tour or get the adrenaline pumping with a jet boat tour on
the Enderby River. See the countryside by air, harnessed to powerful
ski boats as you parasail on Wood Lake. Okanagan lake, Skaha Lake,
or Osoyoos Lake.
Consider other treats such as hot air balloon rides, float plane tours,
helicopter tours or paragliding.
Similkameen
Valley - West of Osoyoos lies a region where ranching and gold
