Kamloops - Fraser River Valley - Nicola River Valley - Thompson River Valley

Hells Gate Air Tram Boston Bar - just south of town, visitors can stop to view Hell’s Gate. The sheer rock walls of this canyon spiral down to the rapids of the Fraser River. Visitors can ride the world famous Hell's Gate Airtram above the Hell's Gate fishway, where hoards of sockeye salmon challenge the river each year on their way to spawn. At one point on this ride, the tram descends low enough to view 200 million gallons of water per minute, surging through the 110-ft gorge. The five minute ride will take you close to the rock walls that Simon Fraser, the early explorer, scaled many years ago.

Lytton - The southern most town in Gold Country. Surrounded by high rock walls and steep forested hillsides, it is here the Fraser and Thompson rivers join to produce a clash of titans. Thus the title of The River Rafting Capital Of Canada. Sign up for a trip while you are there.

Spences Bridge - Northeast of Lytton, The Trans Canada Highway takes you through Spences Bridge. Famous for it's steelhead fishing, this area attracts anglers from all over the world to catch and release one of these sport fish. This area also is the starting point for many wet and wild river rafting excursions.

Ashcroft - With strong links to the gold rush period, Ashcroft was the rail point for freight before it was hauled up the Cariboo Wagon Trail. Stay for a couple of days at one of the local guest ranches for some of the best trail riding around.

Cache Creek - North of Ashcroft is Cache Creek, known for it’s Jade Carvings. In the 1800’s it was the centre of commerce for the gold miners and the main supply site. Cache Creek is the junction of Highway 1 and Highway 97, which heads to Prince George and Dawson Creek and on up the Alaska Highway.

Kamloops - This city of over 75,000, called the "meeting place" from the Shuswap Indian word. Located in a valley where the North and South Thompson Rivers meet, as well as three major highways and two rail lines.

Merritt - a bustling community in the Nicola River Valley is a major junction for accessing modern amenities, outdoor adventure and the backcounty lifestyle less than two hours from Hope on the Coquilhalla Toll Highway (highway 5). The world famous Douglas Lake Ranch is just east of Quilchena off Highway 5a at Nicola Lake.

Chase - is located at the western edge of Little Shuswap Lake, the gateway to the recreation opportunities of the Shuswap Lake System. Chase is situated 34 miles (56 kilometers) east of Kamloops BC on Highway 1 and 30 miles (52 kilometers) west of Salmon Arm. The lake provides hours of fishing adventure, swimming, or power boating. Chase Falls are just a short walk from the Trans-Canada Highway.

Sorrento - Salmon Arm - Sicamous - The Houseboating Capital Of Canada. Shuswap and Mara Lakes is the best place to start. The average water temperature is 75 degrees F/21 degrees C.
